I like to define myself as an artistic scientist and as a scientific artist due to my double background in music and physics. I compose music, conduct musical ensembles, perform piano, but at the same time write code and use mathematics all the time to formalise my ideas. I have managed to combine the two sides of my persona undertaking a PhD in music, which is actually somewhere in between music, artificial intelligence, music cognition and philosophy.
I’m a great fan of emergentism, systems thinking, interdisciplinary research, chess and strong AI. I believe one day computers will be better than us at creating all sorts of creative artefacts from visual arts to music. Most of my day is spent trying to make the previous sentence true as soon as possible.
